Another dimension

FR MoCA presents Another Dimension, a group exhibition curated by Harry Gould Harvey IV featuring five national and local artists. Building on FRMoCA’s previous exhibition Plant/ED, Another Dimension challenges notions of perception and abstraction. The centerpiece is a diptych of spiritual schematics by Boston visionary artist Paul Laffoley (1935–2015) depicting the tesseract (hypercube). With the tesseract as a conceptual anchor, the gallery space transforms into a camera obscura, presenting paintings at varying levels of abstraction and creating new vectors for understanding through the interplay of these elements.

Throughout the exhibition, FR MoCA will serve as a hub for artistic and educational exploration. Highlights include the groundbreaking of a native pollinator garden in collaboration with the City of Fall River’s Adirondack Farm (supported by American Beauties Native Plants and Prides Corner Farms) and the museum’s first summer artist residency for four local high school students and recent graduates. This eight-week apparel design program, featuring instructors Henry Hawk and Dylan Matsumo in partnership with Vanson Leathers, will culminate in a presentation at Vanson’s Fall River showroom.

Another Dimension is FRMoCA’s eighth group exhibition and the third at its location at 44 Troy Street in the GATHER complex.
